| SPA ESSENTIALS pH ANCHOR is an easy one-step liquid for maintaining a stable, comfortable pH and softening your spa's water. It makes balancing the water extremely simple, eliminating the need for many other water balancing treatments you may currently be using. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN PLASTER OR TILE-SURFACE SPAS.
Controlling the pH of your spa's water is an important part of chemical maintenance. pH ANCHOR not only establishes proper pH, but keeps the pH from drifting to protect your spa and its equipment. At the same time, it softens the water by removing dissolved calcium, keeping your spa comfortable and clean. In addition, pH ANCHOR enhances water clarity and helps to prevent stains caused by dissolved metals in the fill water. As a result, your spa is easier to maintain and easier to enjoy.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Read entire label and use strictly in accordance with precautionary statements and directions.
1. Drain and clean the spa's surfaces with a spa surface cleaner. Clean spa filter with a filter cleaner degreaser. Refill spa with fresh water. Check manufacturer's literature to determine your spa volume. Test to determine the calcium hardness or total hardness of the water used to fill the spa. For calcium hardness testing, see your dealer.
2. Add one (1) quart of pH ANCHOR per 300 to 500 gallons of spa water. If calcium hardness exceeds 150 ppm (total hardness 195 ppm) a total of 2 quarts of pH ANCHOR will be needed per 300-500 gallons of spa water. See NOTE below for proper procedures. If calcium hardness exceeds 300 ppm (390 total hardness), consult your dealer.
IMPORTANT: The heater should be off before the addition of pH ANCHOR. The heater should remain off until all cloudiness has been cleared by filtration.
PLEASE NOTE: If dissolved calcium is present, the water softening action of pH Anchor will precipitate the calcium, allowing your filter to remove it. The water may cloud when the product is added, indicating that pH ANCHOR is working to remove excess calcium. If clouding occurs, circulate the spa for 24 hours. Then remove cartridge filters and rinse away excess calcium using a strong stream of water. Backwash sand or D.E. filters.
If pH of fill water is 7.6 or higher and total alkalinity exceeds 150 ppm, it will be necessary to add sufficient pH decreaser to reduce the pH to 7.4. This water balance adjustment is only necessary when pH and total alkalinity are both high.
NOTE: In spas with more than 150 ppm of calcium hardness, add 1 quart of pH ANCHOR, circulate for 24 hours (at higher speed is 2 speed pump), then clean filter. Add second quart of pH ANCHOR and circulate again for 24 hours. If filter pressure increases 10 psi or more, clean filter again. |
