Alkalinity Up by GLB Pool & Spa
| | 1 LB. | $3.44 | Out Of Stock |
| When the pH value of spa/hot tub water fluctuates from low to high and back again in a short time - requiring continual corrective doses of soda ash or acid - it is usually the result of a low total
alkalinity condition of the water. A low total alkalinity value may result either from very low alkaline water at the source, or from chemical reactions of alkaline material in the water with other chemicals which have been added to the spa/hot tub. In either event, the condition is easily corrected by using ALKALINITY UP to maintain the total alkalinity of spa/hot tub water between the values of 75-150 ppm.
TO INCREASE TOTAL ALKALINITY: Determine the level of total alkalinity by the use of a test kit. If the value is below 75ppm, add sufficient ALKALINITY UP directly into the water - to increase the total alkalinity value to at least 75ppm.
2 1/2 Tbs. ALKALINITY UP will provide approximately 10 ppm increase in total alkalinity for 500 gallons of water. Wait several hours for ALKALINITY UP to distribute uniformly before rechecking total alkalinity level. Repeat as needed. |
